Somerset, Westport field hockey post shutouts, Durfee win

The fall sports activities season is underway within the Fall River house.

Girls football: Westport vs. Bishop Connolly

SCORE: Westport 3, Bishop Connolly 0

LOCATION: Westport

RECORD: Westport, 2-7 (1-3 in Mayflower Comprehensive) 

HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats blanked Bishop Connolly at house. Korynne Holden netted a purpose for Westport. Maeve Sullivan and Jenna George every scored their first varsity purpose. Cristina D’Attelo and Audrey Xavier blended for the shutout in internet.

NEXT UP: The Wildcats play a rematch with the Cougars on Friday.

Girls football: Diman at Bristol-Plymouth

SCORE: Diman 10, Bristol Plymouth 0

LOCATION: Bristol-Plymouth

RECORD: Diman, 6-1-1 (4-0 in Mayflower Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals ruled their sport from begin to end towards league opponent Bristol-Plymouth at the highway. Destani Alua-Rioux

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers blanked non-league opponent Old Rochester. Maddie Hargraves,  Destani Alua-Rioux, and Alannah Braga every netted targets for Durfee. “The team as a whole struggled during the first half but came together as a true team and dominated by scoring three goals in the second half,” Hilltopper head trainer Amie Lauren Roach stated.

Reese Swanson

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders in the back of 3 targets by means of Reese Swanson blanked Bishop Stang at the highway. Emily Bjork scored the primary purpose of the sport for SBR with a really perfect move from Karissa Albin. HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats received their 3rd instantly sport, defeated non-league opponent Wareham. “We had many scoring opportunities throughout the game,” Westport head trainer Jacquelyn Legendre stated. “With under four minutes remaining, we were able to send one in the back of the net off a shot from Molly Bazinet.”

Golf: Somerset Berkley vs. Greater New Bedford

SCORE: Somerset Berkley 281, Greater New Bedford 306

RECORD: Somerset Berkley, 6-8

Brandon Silva

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders defeated league opponent Greater New Bedford on Tuesdya. Brandon Silva continues to play smartly, for SBR, carding a 5 over 41 in very windy and rainy stipulations. Alex Crook, Dominic Alderman and Tyler Costa all performed smartly with sub 50 rounds with Costa making his varsity debut.


Cross Country: Durfee at New Bedford

SCORE: New Bedford 20, Durfee 27 

LOCATION: New Bedford

DATE: Oct. 6

RECORD: Durfee, 0-3 (each girls and boys)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers staff had a fantastic appearing at the highway. Six of the 8 runners got here via with personal-best instances. Maggie O’Connell had her ideally suited appearing but and ran a time of 20:38 hitting her purpose of breaking 21 mins and coming 2nd total and primary for women.
